Professional Heating Repair

Gas Furnace Repair

Furnaces are powered by gas in Pensacola, especially in established areas like East Hill. When furnaces stop working, it's usually due to gas-specific issues. This can include pilot light issues, cracked heat exchangers, failed thermocouples, and dirty burners, etc. There can even be a "burning smell" that develops and signals an issue with your furnace system.

If your pilot light is yellow instead of blue, or if you smell "rotten eggs" (a sign of a gas leak), shut your system off and call us immediately. We specialize in furnace safety inspections and gas valve replacements to keep your home warm and safe.

Electric Furnace Repair

There are also electric furnaces, which have their own set of issues. These systems rely on "electric resistance" to create heat, which puts a high load on the electrical components of your home. Some common issues our techs see with electric furnaces are blown heat strips, melted wiring, and faulty sequencers.

Heat Pump Repair & Maintenance

The most common heating system in Pensacola is the heat pump. It’s essentially an AC running in reverse. These units work year-round (cooling in summer, heating in winter), and therefore, they experience more wear and tear than traditional HVAC systems. We've seen issues with faulty reversing valves (which allow the unit to switch from cooling to heating), low refrigerant, and frozen outdoor coils.

Ductless Heating System Repair (Mini-Split)

Ductless mini-split systems are becoming much more popular in the Gulf Coast. As such, repairs will happen from time to time. If you are getting an error code on your system or the mini-split is blowing cold air, you should give us a call. We troubleshoot issues with reversing valves, sensor issues, communication errors between the indoor and outdoor units, and more.

Thermostat Repair

There are several pieces of electronic hardware that control your heating system, which can also break down. The most common issues we see are faulty blower motors and bad sensors. Our technicians troubleshoot communication issues between your thermostat and control board, replace dead batteries where needed, and recalibrate sensors.

Heating System Efficiency Standards

All new installations in Florida must meet federal efficiency standards. We only install equipment that meets or exceeds 14.3 SEER2 for cooling efficiency and 7.5 HSPF2 for heating efficiency. We recommend 16+ SEER2 for coastal homes to maximize your Florida Power & Light rebates and long-term savings.

Rebates & incentives

Florida residents can receive up to $8,000 in rebates on ENERGY STAR® heating and cooling equipment. This program is income-dependent, read more on the Florida Energy Saver Program website. The program is currently in pilot, and applications are opening in waves throughout 2026. Applications can be submitted here.

Heating Issues Native to Pensacola

Heating systems tend to be neglected compared to AC systems in our area, since it's warm nine months out of the year... but they're still used. Since furnaces aren't needed nearly as often, most homeowners let this get out of hand until the very last minute. When December and January cold snaps hit, these heating systems are put under pressure, and some fail. This is why we recommend keeping your furnace or heat pump maintained in the off-season.

There are some unique nuances with cold weather in Escambia County. Our area is significantly more humid than most areas of the United States, which can cause a lot of issues with mold and bacteria in your HVAC system. This is often called "dirty sock syndrome", where the air coming out of your vents has a bad, moldy odor. Our HVAC technicians clean the evaporator coil, drain pan, and blower wheel, as well as address the drainage from the unit. We will often suggest using MERV-rated filters and having them changed regularly. We've also experimented with UV light disinfection systems to keep microbial growth at bay.
